Snack
Research shows that students that are hungry tend to struggle with concentration and focus. That is why it is important for students to eat a healthy snack daily in between breakfast and lunch. So, so rather than having parents send in an individual snack for their child everyday, it really works out well if we all work together and take turns bringing in snack for the whole class. Not only is it easier, but also encourages students to try new unique food items brought in by others. NOTE: Shopping for snack for two weeks, counts towards 5 SCS volunteer hours.

Water
Research also shows that staying hydrated boasts the capacity to learn! When we are thirsty mental performance, memory and attention decreases. Furthermore dehydration can occur quickly especially in the South Florida heat. So we ask that every child carry a water bottle at all times. Please label your child's water bottle with his or her name with permanent marker. Your child will be able to fill up their water bottle throughout the day!

Lunch
Students can either buy lunch or bring lunch to school each day.
Bringing Lunch- Students who bring lunch are encouraged to bring a healthy lunch as we are a "junk food free" school. Please refrain from sending in chips, soda and candy.
Buying Lunch- Students who buy lunch will have an opportunity to "sign up" each morning. School lunch is only provided on full school days. School lunch is not served on Wednesday's. Payment can be made each morning by bringing Mrs. Nedin cash or a check. Parents can pay in advance for future lunches or pay for lunch daily. However, the best way to make lunch payments is to pay online at the following website:
